World Down Syndrome Day is an international awareness day observed every year on March 21 (3/21).
The date symbolizes the three copies of chromosome 21 that cause Down syndrome (also called Trisomy 21).
DSAP has various ways to educate and celebrate with us!

Educate
Educate & celebrate in the classroom this March with our World Down Syndrome Day Kit! Two variations of the kit will be available: PreK–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade.
Each free kit will include a book, lesson guide, engaging activities, and fun items to help students learn about and celebrate Down syndrome & friendship.
These kits can be ordered by parents or teachers.
More details will be emailed to you after the pre-order window closes.
Last day to pre-order is Feb. 1st. School much be located in Western PA.
On March 3rd there will be two opportunities to learn inclusive strategies to support learners with Down syndrome. If you are ordering a classroom kit, there will be an invite inside the kit for your teacher to join too! These sessions are open to everyone - parents, teachers, support staff, etc. We hope you can join us!

World Down Syndrome Day Weekend! Come to one event, or come to them all! A free community dance in the north and south and a fundraising gala in Pittsburgh.

Together, our organizations are dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome across the Greater Pittsburgh area through exceptional medical care, meaningful programming, and unwavering support for individuals, their families, and the community.
Our impact is greatest when we work hand in hand because we truly are all better together.
Join us at the Children's Museum for a night of celebration, hors d’oeuvres, dancing, and meaningful fundraising in support of individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. Black tie optional.
