DSAP is a registered 501(c)(3) started as a small group of local parents in 1974 and now serving over 1,300 families in the Greater Pittsburgh Region.

To support, connect, educate, and inspire individuals with Down syndrome across the lifespan in the Greater Pittsburgh Region.

Who We Serve

With Down syndrome occurring in 1 in 640 births, over 1,800 individuals with Down syndrome live in Allegheny County alone. In total, over 2500 individuals with Down syndrome live in Western PA.

●      Family Impact:

DSAP supports not just individuals with Down syndrome, but thousands of family members, educators, and care providers through our network of programs, education, and advocacy.

●      Geographic Footprint:

While based in Pittsburgh, DSAP’s services and events reach Western PA and surrounding counties, including Westmoreland, Washington, Butler, Beaver, and beyond.
