What We Do

Family Connection Program

We are thrilled to continue our FAMILY CONNECTION PROGRAM that began in 2020. This program aims to unite parents and loved ones through in-person events and Facebook groups, offering mutual support and insights in a safe, comforting environment.

DSAP hosts monthly Mom's Connections, quarterly Dad's Connections, and quarterly Close Connection Meetups. Please know that these groups may be hosted by DSAP volunteers in our community. DSAP also has private Facebook groups for parents of individuals with Down syndrome of all ages. The Facebook groups are targeted to a specific age or part of the Down syndrome journey to ensure the content is relevant and relatable for all attendees.

DSAP also hosts Family Connection events for individuals with Down syndrome, their caregivers and their siblings. Past events have included: Family & Kids Connection at the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library, Young Adults' Connection at Coop De Ville, Family Night at PNC Park, and Summer Playdates. To learn more about and RSVP for upcoming events and programs, visit DSAP's Event Calendar here.

If you are interested in becoming a Family Connection program facilitator, please reach out to info@dsapgh.org.

Family Connection Program

"The Family Connection sessions have been a wonderful resource for me as we live an hour north from the city. It’s not easy for us to attend play dates or family events. It’s been a very special place to share our stories, give & receive advice, offer suggestions, and confide in like minded mammas. Thank you for this platform" -Nikki Goodmote
