Author Book Reading of The Unstoppable Jamie
Join DSAP and Stories Like Me for a special author reading of the book "Unstoppable Jamie" on Sunday, August 11 at 2pm. Author Joy Givens will read her book which was inspired by her son and is the story of a boy with Down syndrome who goes on a superhero’s journey to New York City and learns what truly makes him unstoppable.
After Joy reads her book, we will have snacks and conversation. This event is FREE and open to ALL ages, families and community members.
Stories Like Me is Pittsburgh's local indie bookstore where all children and families can find themselves in stories. Their Mission is to be the most comprehensive resource for diverse, accessible and empowering children’s literature so that all children can see themselves in a story. Their store is a community hub promoting equality, equity and inclusion, and they share the stories of the world to generate empathy and peace through books.
